Urban Mycelium is not about mushrooms.
Mushrooms became the lens through which I began to understand hidden connections.
What began with fungi evolved into an artistic practice exploring networks, relationships, cities, nature and the invisible systems that connect them.
Urban Mycelium did not begin with a project. It began with curiosity. What started as long walks through forests and an unexpected fascination with fungi slowly became something much bigger.
The deeper I explored the hidden world beneath our feet, the more I discovered that mycelium is far more than a biological phenomenon. It is a way of thinking about relationships, cooperation and invisible connections.
Somewhere along the way I realised something else. Yes, spending years thinking about fungi probably makes me a bit of a mushroom nerd. I'm perfectly fine with that.
Because the more I learned, the more I began to recognise similar patterns everywhere: in cities, in graffiti culture, in architecture, in ecology and in the invisible networks that connect people and places.
Mushrooms became the lens through which I started looking at the world differently.
Today this artistic practice explores the hidden systems that shape our environment. Murals, installations, found objects and series are all different expressions of the same ongoing research: revealing connections that often remain unseen.
